1) バイオリズムは、身体P、感情S、知性Iの3周期からその日のコンディションを判断する手法。
古代から人間の運命の周期性は信仰などに利用されてきた。20世紀には、ウィーン大学の Ｈ・スウォボタ博士 とドイツのＷ・フリース医師 が、患者の容態変化から23日の身体周期と28日の感情周期を見出した。1920年には、オーストリアのＡ・テルチャー工学教授が学生の成績変化に33日周期の相関があることを発見し、生誕日を基点として異なる3つの周期からなるバイオリズムが提唱された。女性の月経は28日周期のため感情周期は女性周期、また23日の身体周期は男性周期とも言われる。
23、28、33の最小公倍数である21252日=58.2年で循環し、東洋の干支60年サイクルに近くなっている。
1970年代は、生命保険会社がバイオリズム情報を販促として活用しバイオリズムが衆知された。
1975年にカシオ計算機はバイオリズムを表示する電卓『バイオレーター』を発売した。
