Comparative Advantage
The theory of comparative advantage is a theory regarding foreign trade and international division of labor proposed by Ricardo. It posits that by comparing the relative costs of producing various goods within a country to those of other countries, and by exporting goods in which the country has a comparative advantage while importing goods in which it has a comparative disadvantage, both parties benefit and international division of labor takes place.
