Volumetric Weight Calculation
This tool calculates the volumetric weight of cargo by converting its volume into weight.
| Volumetric Weight | kg (Before rounding) |
| 〃 | kg (Rounded up to the nearest 0.5 kg) |
| 〃 | kg (Rounded up to the nearest kilogram) |
・Freight charges are typically calculated based on whichever is greater: volumetric weight or actual weight.
・The conversion factor for converting volume to weight is commonly 1 m³ = 280 kg for truck transport and 1 m³ = 1,000 kg for ocean freight. For air freight, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) defines 6,000 cm³ = 1 kg; however, in Japan and China, 6,000 cm³ = 1 kg is commonly used, while foreign carriers often use 5,000 cm³ = 1 kg.
