This program calculates surplus analysis for free trade and tariffs. It calculates consumer surplus and producer surplus in the domestic market without trade, as well as the surpluses resulting from free trade and the imposition of tariffs. It also calculates import volume, tax revenue, and welfare loss (deadweight loss).
There are no input restrictions, but the international price (world price) must be lower than the domestic equilibrium price before trade. Additionally, the tariff must be a value that prevents the import quantity from becoming negative or zero.
Assume the domestic demand function is a linear equation of the form D = b + aP. Similarly, assume the domestic supply function is a linear equation of the form S = f + cP. Be careful to enter values with the correct positive and negative signs.
