This tool calculates the expected level of bubbles in hot spring water based on the values in the analysis report. Please enter the pH, bicarbonate ion, and free carbonate values listed in the analysis report. It is preferable to use the pH value measured at the spring source rather than in a laboratory.
If there is a discrepancy between the theoretical value of free carbon dioxide estimated from the pH and bicarbonate ion concentration and the amount of free carbon dioxide listed in the analytical report, this may manifest as foaming.
| Theoretical Free Carbonate Content | mg |
| Expected Value (Recorded Value – Theoretical Value) | mg |
Foaming varies significantly depending on water usage and spring temperature, so please treat these figures as a general guide only.
Additionally, the analysis method is assumed to be volumetric titration combined with separation titration. With gravimetric analysis, foaming may occur even at low concentrations.
Under similar conditions, the higher the expected concentration, the greater the likelihood of foaming.
