Ramanujan's Formula Last updated May 1, 2025
The following formula, discovered by the mathematician Ramanujan as a formula that provides an infinite number of integer solutions for numbers that can be expressed in two ways as the sum of two cubes:
(6*a^2-4*a*b+4*b^2)^3=(3*a^2+5*a*b-5*b^2)^3+(4*a^2-4*a*b+6*b^2)^3+(5*a^2-5*a*b-3*b^2)^3
Let’s verify this by actually substituting values into the formula.

Calculation errors may occur with values of 9 digits or more.
