Note that the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare defines “moderate drinking” as an average of approximately 20 g of pure alcohol per day (approximately 140 g per week), while a large-scale study by the University of Cambridge in the UK sets the “safe amount of alcohol” at 100 g per week.
